Introducing Quantum’s new FreeXwires FW8R, FW9T Quantum’s new QTTL system links Qflash 5d series flashes to digital and film cameras wirelessly. Get wireless TTL for Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Hasselblad, Mamiya, and Contax cameras. Quantum’s Adapters with a FreeXwire FW9T Transmitter will send commands to one or more remote FreeXwire receivers connected to Qflashes.
 
There are two new FreeXwire receivers. Compact receiver FW7Q plugs directly into Qflash 5d or 4d series flashes. No sync cords or batteries needed! FreeXwire receiver FW8R connects to Qflash for wireless TTL.

    Qflash 5d-R features
    Full dedication - Connect a Qflash 5d-R to a camera using a Dw series QTTL Adapter and make Qflash a powerful, fully dedicated flash that mimics the features of camera manufacturers’ flashes.
     
    Wireless TTL with Fill-flash - When teamed with a FreeXWire system, Qflash receives your camera’s TTL exposure commands wirelessly. Wireless fill-flash offsets are set on the D and Dw series QTTL adapters, or on the camera.
     
    Wireless Linked Auto with Qflash - Ratios Set up an on-camera Qflash and one or two remote Qflashes with FreeXWires. Control the ratios of the remote Qflashes wirelessly from the panel of the on-camera Qflash. All Qflashes track the f/stop of the camera as you change it.

    The Qflash 5d-R has features of the Qflash 5d including:
     
  • 150 wattseconds flash power (versus 50 ws typically for shoe mount flashes.)
     
  • 25 precision 1/3 stop Auto settings

    QTTL Adapters

    Two new QTTL adapter modules are now available: D12w-R for Nikon --- D13w-R for Canon. Currently only Nikon and Canon systems are capable of transmitting wireless TTL-Ratio commands directly to remote flash units. However, Qflash's wireless auto-fill feature gives other camera brands the ratio feature of wireless TTL.
     
    Using the QTTL adapter for your camera, Qflash "Digitals" display and track the camera f/number and film speed set in the camera, allow for rear curtain sync, and provide infra-red auto focus assist.
     
    QTTL adapters can offset Qflash output between -3 to +2 stops (in 1/3 steps) in relation to the f/number setting on the camera. Even if your camera doesn't support fill/flash ratio, the QTTL ratio setting tracks the camera aperture as it changes, providing automatic fill/flash ratio!
     
    Digital and film cameras that employ "pre-flash" metering are also supported by Quantum's QTTL adapters.

    Prevent subject "blow out"
    We've all experienced those ghostly figures in the foreground appearing out of a dark or distant background. Subject "blow out" is a shortcoming of flash auto exposure when the background is far away and the subject is close. Auto exposure tries to fill the background and winds up blowing out the foreground subject.
     
    Qflash 5d and 5d-R have the solution, called "Sensor Limit". Setting the Sensor Limit distance to the approximate subject distance forces Qflash to ignore the distant background, giving accurate subject exposures.
     
    The Sensor Limit feature is not available on any other camera or flash system. A Qflash 4d, 5d, or 5d-R with QTTL adapters lets you use Sensor Limit in Program, Auto and Auto/fill modes, while the flash exposure tracks the camera f/number settings.

    Visual and Audible Aids
      Flash exposure indicators on four sides blink for visual confirmation that the flash is OK, under or over exposed, or did not fire. Audible indicators can also be turned on, off, or listened to with an earphone. In Auto and Auto Fill modes, exposure results are displayed on the LCD. Any amount of under- or over-exposure is also displayed as a guide to fine tuning exposure.

    Twin accessory sockets accept control cables that coordinate multiple Qflash units. Control a "main" and two "remote" Qflashes from one position. Connect additional calbes to the remote flashes to add more than two controlled remotes.
     
    Connect FreeXwires to Qflash accessory sockets to control remote Qflashes. You can even set up remote Qflashes with FreeXwires and change settings on the remotes from a local "Control" Qflash, wirelessly!







    		 



    Precision and Accuracy
    Qflash settings can be calibrated to light meter readings by the photographer for personal fine tuning.


    Fast Action with Pre-sets
    The Qflash "Program Mode" gives you instant access to your most frequently used settings. Pre-set any Mode (auto, manual, QTTL, Strobo, Main/Remote) and any settings (f/#, ISO, power, etc.) into as many as 8 memory positions. Then, when you're on the job, a single button push jumps from one pre-set memory to the next one.












    You can quickly change your and your assistant's pre-sets to follow the fastest action.
